NTConnections is looking for a full-time, hands-on Senior Network Engineer and Team Lead to guide our growing commercial client base. The selected candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset that will further our mission to provide high-quality solutions to our clients to build strong long-term relationships.

Overall Responsibilities:

NTConnections Senior Engineers / Team Leads hold two key responsibilities, the ability to dive in and address complex technical issues and the ability to lead a team of talented engineers.

As a Senior Engineer NTConnections expects the candidate to have the ability to configure firewalls, have a clear understanding of IP addressing, routing, subnet masks, server management, have the able to develop and implement comprehensive project plans, being able to conduct business and technical meetings, assisting customers in developing long-term IT strategies, maintaining sound business level communications with clients, recommending sound IT solutions and providing customers with creative ideas to solve their IT issues.

As Team Lead NTConnections is expecting the candidate to be capable of managing a team of talented service desk engineers, orchestrating site visits and dispatching engineers as necessary, monitoring and managing service requests, being a mentor and trainer to the engineers being managed.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, stateful inspection firewalls, encryption, authentication, and authorization technology
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 5+ years hands-on Data/Voice infrastructure experience (design and implementation)
  • Demonstrated advanced networking experience with TCP/IP, UDP, QoS
  • Experience working with vendors on multiple levels (ordering, provisioning, and engineering)
  • Cisco Routing & Switching certification
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess knowledge of monitoring and logging technologies
  • Must possess a high level of comfort with debugging complex issues
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and can work independently as well as lead a team in a highly customer-focused environment
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of VoIP and Networking Systems as well as strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills are needed to perform this job successfully
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple sites
  • Strong working knowledge of layer 3 networks including redundancy and advanced network protocols
  • Ability to meet deadlines and concurrently manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in all aspects of Cisco Switches, firewalls, and networking architecture
  • Monitor and maintain network security appliances to ensure the integrity of all systems from both internal and external entities
